Our programs
Small things matter. Explore with us, and learn how we can take action.
Here’s a variety of ways we can connect and support the environment on your doorstep. Which one works for you?
Let’s LivGreen together.
liv native
LivGreen wants to promote residents to join in the National Initiative Homegrown National Park, BUT it’s easier to learn, fail and grow together. LivNative is a new gardening group for the whole community. Can we convert a small patch of our own garden and devote it to native plants and start to restore Biodiversity? Let’s make a start and learn from each other!
clean streams
We want to connect with our watershed. What’s happening in our local streams and how can we learn more about them together? Building on a program developed through the NJ Watershed Ambassadors, Livingston will be hosting events in fall and spring to look at stream health and also ask what you are observing in the rivers in our backyard throughout the year.
livgreen Book club
A book club with Environmental purpose. LivGreen wants to explore a variety of environmental subjects that can stimulate great conversation, growth and connection.
We’re also sharing LivGreens book, journal and app recommendations for you to explore any time.
lec enviroart
Chloe Marrache (LEC Student Rep 23/24) wanted to promote Environmental engagement in Livingston with a Student Mural Art Competition. Student driven and supported by the LEC, three amazing murals have been installed across town. The murals have stimulated the environmental programs you see on this page -and this is just the beginning!
skip the stuff
Sofia Calderon (LEC Student Rep 24/25) helped bring this ordinance to Livingston. Passionate about reducing single use plastic she worked with local Business owners, BID and our Town Council to help get this ordinance adopted. Youth Action Matters and we are proud Livingston is supporting student voices!
sustainable jersey
Russell Jones and Connor Sweeny worked hard to re-certify Livingston with the Municipal Sustainable Jersey Program at the Bronze level. By expanding our environmental actions we hope to climb up the podium, and your participation in sustaining programs will help make this happen.
