Meet the Future
our Student Alumni
chloe marrache
Chloe was the first student representative of the Livingston Environmental Commission following the formal acceptance of students initiated by advocacy from Chloe with Mayor Al Anthony.
Chloe created the proposal for the LEC EnviroART Mural Competition, creating a vision for communication and action for the Environment driven through the creative Arts and uplifting youth voice in our community.

sofia calderon
Sofia drove the research and adoption of an ordinance for “Skip the Stuff” passed in Livingston in June 2025 and lending Municipal support to the push for Skip the Stuff to be passed in New Jersey. This was signed into Law in January 2026!
Sofia helped and deliver the LEC EnviroART Mural competition and spoke alongside NJ State Senators and Community Non-Profits at the Climate Superfund Act Rally at the State House in Trenton.

Washington D.Caanya RATHI
Aanya was an active LEC Student Representative instrumental in delivering the LEC EnviroART Mural Art Competition and contributing to lobbying in Trenton for the adoption of the Climate Superfund Act. Aanya also undertook her Senior Internship Program with LivGreen and created the momentum for adoption of a Community Tree Planting program that is currently being proposed in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation.

Sophia was a finalist of the LEC EnviroART Mural Competition and completed her Senior Internship program with Doug Jay researching and recording native trees in Livingston. Sophia worked with LivGreen frequently supporting community projects and speaking powerfully at the Climate Superfund Act Rally in Trenton NJ sharing her personal experiences with Climate Change and advocating for action.

Jasmine Wang
Jasmine worked with LivGreen as part of her Senior Internship Program. jasmine helped create a communication strategy and worked on the design of our outreach campaigns. Jasmine also supported education outreach in elementary schools and lobbying events for the Climate Superfund Act at the State House in Trenton.

Carolina was a winner of the LEC EnvioART Mural Competition. She uses her passion for Art and the Environment to create emotional connection and reverence for the beauty and color of the ocean. Her piece ‘The Shimmering Seer” was designed to promote joy, and stewardship of our oceans and inland waterways.
Loretta Chen
Loretta was a winner in the LEC EnviroART Mural Competition for her art work “Our Backyard Yellowstone”. Her piece addressed how imbalances in the food chain, and the overpopulation of deer have led to a loss of Biodiversity in our NJ environment.

Lynn Sun
Lynn was a winner in the LEC EnviroART Mural Competition for her “Brighter Future” art work with Ritika Chandiwala. Their mural depicts a crystal ball, looking into a brighter future where we rely on eco-friendly resources to transform our environment. A future where we embrace environmentally conscious sources of energy, green infrastructure and open spaces throughout our towns & cities.
