Creative Climate Action: Harnessing the Power of the Arts

While climate impacts and solutions are too often communicated in technical language, the arts—music, dance, film, painting, and more—have the unique ability to translate abstract concepts into connection, awareness, and action.

The New York Climate Exchange and Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, co-hosted voices from across disciplines to explore how art and climate science can join forces to deepen engagement and spur action. Artists, communicators, and scientists presented what’s working, where the gaps remain, and what new opportunities lie ahead for cross-sector collaboration.

Think of the Earth Rise photo, creative arts are not just decoration they’re climate solutions. Artists want to lead and collaborate; art is not ornamental it’s integral to what we are building, it’s not just a design it’s part of the architecture of climate solutions and has the capacity to reflect and amplify public opinion.

I recommend you enjoy this presentation and hope we can reflect this approach in Livingston.
