LEC advocates for NJ PACT REAL Rules with exceptions!
Following ANJECs hour of Action updates on NJ PACT REAL Rules. Alison Barmas, member of the LEC and chair of LivGreen presented public testimony to support the adoption of NJ PACT REAL Rules and called for the elimination the hardship waiver eligibility for affordable housing. People with less economic means have the right to live in safe places and should not be subject to higher risk of death and property damage because they have less money than some other New Jersey residents. Affordable housing should not be built in floodplains.
Alison added the testimony of LHS students on the effects they have undergone from increased storm and flood events resulting from Climate Change.
